With the rapid advancement of technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become ubiquitous, permeating all aspects of society, higher education included.
Recognizing both the benefits and drawbacks of artificial intelligence, Thai Binh Dương University has organized the “Hon Nge 2024 Meeting” conference, creating an open forum for experts, administrators, and educators to discuss, share experiences, and develop comprehensive solutions.
The event brought together a diverse group of educators, leading technology experts, and business leaders to collaboratively create a comprehensive picture of AI’s impact on Vietnamese higher education.
With the overarching goal of deciphering the challenges and seizing the opportunities presented by AI, the workshop fostered a vibrant and multifaceted discussion.
Dr. Pham Quoc Loc, President of Thai Binh Duong University, observes: ‘If arts and humanities education is liberating, freeing individuals from rigid thought patterns and dogmas, and returning them to a love of fundamental knowledge, then AI is a powerful tool. In that case, AI can do the laundry and dishes so we can think, contemplate, and create.
Professor Nguyen Quy Thanh, the Rector of the University of Education at Vietnam National University Hanoi, highlighted several critical issues, including the need to ensure educational equity, the ethical implications of AI, and the development of a legal framework for AI in education.
Mr. Le Cong Thanh, CEO of InfoRE Technology, shared profound insights into the impact of artificial intelligence on society and the labor market. He particularly highlighted the need to equip the future workforce with suitable skills to seize opportunities and overcome challenges in the digital age.
