Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Thanh was the Founding Director of the Vietnam Institute for Economic and Policy Research (VEPR) at the National University of Hanoi (2008-2020); a former member of the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Group during the 2011-2016 term; and is now the Director of the Center for Economic and Strategic Studies (VESS) in Hanoi.
He is also the author of numerous research works in economics, actively participates in discussions and policy planning for Vietnam’s economy, and is the editor of the annual Vietnam Economic Report series, a significant and influential publication in the field of modern Vietnam economics.
As an Eisenhower Fellowship scholar (U.S.) since 2015, he is a member of the East Asian Economic Association (EAEA) and advises various economic policy research programs, commercial banks, enterprises, investment funds, and media channels in Vietnam.
He obtained his Ph.D. in Development Economics from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) in Japan in 2008.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Đức Thành consistently upholds a high level of responsibility in his work to meet the demands of providing high-quality education to the students at Thai Binh Duong University.
